PAPER OPTIONS

Photographic lustre and glossy paper are our two popular papers of choice when printing your memories. We use the very best in traditional photographic materials including our Fujicolor Crystal Archive Digital Paper Type DPII Colour Papers. These silver halide colour papers have specifically been designed for professional use. It offers the widest colour gamut, maximum density for deep blacks and has an excellent colour saturation. We feel that these are truly the very best Photographic Papers in the world and each offering distinct characteristics and visual effects.

The glossy version of Fujicolor Crystal Archive DPII paper has a smooth and reflective surface which enhances colour saturation and contrast. It produces vibrant and sharp images with rich details. The glossy finish provides a sleek, shiny appearance that can make colours appear more vibrant and blacks deeper. On rare occasions the reflectivity can cause slight issues with glare and fingerprints, which could be noticeable under certain lighting conditions.

On the other hand, Fujicolor Crystal Archive DPII paper in its Lustre format features a semi-gloss finish with a subtle textured surface. It strikes a balance between a glossy and matte finish, offering a understated sheen without excessive reflectivity. Lustre paper is often preferred for professional and portrait photography, as it reduces glare and fingerprints while still maintaining an amazing colour saturation and image sharpness. The subtle textured surface helps to minimise reflections, making it easier to view the photograph from various angles.

In terms of longevity, both paper types are classed as archival-grade, meaning they are designed to resist fading and discoloration over time.

Ultimately, the choice between photographic lustre and glossy paper comes down to personal preference and the intended use of the photograph. Glossy paper offers a high-impact, glossy look, while photographic lustre provides a more subtle, professional appearance with reduced glare.

Whatever paper surface you choose you can rest assured that the combination of our highly experienced print technicians and Fujicolor DPII Papers will surpass your expectations in print quality.
